To receive digital Open Badges for your certifications, you must first opt in to the badging program. This article explains how the opt‑in process works and what to do if you did not receive the invitation.

How to Opt In
1. Opt‑In Invitation Email
After you complete your first certification, The Open Group sends an email inviting you to opt in to the badging program.
The email includes:
- A link to complete the opt‑in process
- Instructions on how badges will be issued through Pearson Credly
You must click the link in the email to activate your participation.
If You Did Not Receive the Invitation
You may not have received the invitation if:
- The link expired
- More than 3 working days have passed since your certification was awarded
- The email was filtered or missed
In these cases, you can opt in manually using this opt‑in link (login required).
