Overview
If you do not pass an examination, you may be eligible for a retake voucher or a discount voucher depending on how you originally registered for the exam. This article explains the steps to follow based on your exam route, along with important timing and eligibility requirements.
1. If You Attended an Accredited Training Course (ATC)
If your exam voucher was provided as part of an Accredited Training Course:
- Contact your Accredited Training Course Provider directly.
- They may be able to issue a retake voucher.
- You will need to provide:
- Your candidate number
- The date of your examination
- A copy of your examination score report
If your ATC cannot provide a retake voucher—for example, if they have used their full allocation or are no longer accredited—you may request a discount voucher from The Open Group (see Section 2).
2. If You Took the Self‑Study Route
If you booked your exam directly with Pearson VUE (without an ATC):
- You may request a discount voucher from The Open Group.
- Email a copy of your score report (PDF preferred) to:
exam-vouchers(at)opengroup.org - Please allow at least 14 days for the discount voucher to be issued.
3. Voucher Request Time Limits
All requests for retake or discount vouchers must be submitted within 2 years of the original exam date.
4. Retake Waiting Period
The earliest you may retake an examination is one month after your previous attempt.
