Overview
If you are registering for the OGEA‑101: TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Part 1 (English) exam and cannot find an option to request an ESL (English as a Second Language) time extension, this is expected. For this exam, the ESL extension is handled automatically, with extra time added after payment completion for candidates living in designated ESL countries.
How ESL time extensions work for OGEA‑101
For single‑part exams, including OGEA‑101, The Open Group does not provide a separate ESL version of the exam.
Instead:
- Extra time is automatically added for candidates who live in countries designated by The Open Group as ESL countries.
- You will not see a separate ESL version of a single part exam.
- The additional time will appear on your Pearson VUE booking confirmation once your registration is fully complete (including payment).
This means, if you live in a designated ESL country you do not need to request the extension manually.
How to confirm your ESL time extension
After completing your exam booking:
- Check your Pearson VUE confirmation email
- Look for the exam duration listed in the booking details
- If you live in an ESL‑designated country, the extended time will already be included
If the duration shown is longer than the standard exam time, your ESL extension has been applied.
If you do not live in an ESL-designated country and believe the extension should apply to you
If you do not live in an ESL‑designated country and believe you qualify you should contact the help desk for instructions.
