Because exam pricing and tax calculations depend on the region where the exam will be taken, Pearson VUE requires the appointment to be cancelled and rebooked.
Why This Error Occurs
Pearson VUE validates your exam booking details against:
- The country/region in your Pearson VUE profile
- The location/region associated with your original exam registration
If these do not match, the system cannot adjust the tax or pricing automatically, resulting in the error message.
How to Fix the Issue
To resolve the error:

Cancel your existing exam appointment
- This must be done at least 48 hours before your scheduled exam time to avoid forfeiting your fee.

Schedule a new exam appointment
- When rebooking, the system will apply the correct tax and pricing based on your updated region.
