Overview
OnVUE is Pearson VUE’s online proctoring solution, which requires a stable, unrestricted network connection to function correctly. While it is technically possible to run OnVUE from an office environment, it is not recommended.
Why Office Networks Are Not Ideal
Candidates typically experience fewer issues when testing from a home network. Office networks often include:
- Firewalls
- Proxy servers
- Strict security policies
- Traffic filtering or monitoring tools
These controls can interfere with the OnVUE client’s ability to communicate with the proctoring system, leading to connection failures, dropped sessions, or an inability to launch the exam.
Recommended Testing Environment
For the best experience, candidates should:
- Use a home network or another non‑corporate network
- Ensure they have a stable, high‑speed internet connection
- Avoid VPNs, remote desktops, or corporate security tools during the exam
Summary
While you may be able to launch OnVUE from an office, it is not advised. Home networks provide a more reliable and less restricted environment, reducing the risk of technical issues during your exam.
