Overview
The Open Group maintains strict standards to ensure the integrity and value of its certification programs. Any form of cheating—before, during, or after an exam—is considered a serious violation of exam security and professional conduct requirements.
What Constitutes Cheating
Cheating may include, but is not limited to:
- Using unauthorized materials or assistance during an exam
- Sharing, receiving, or attempting to obtain exam content
- Impersonating another candidate
- Any behavior that violates The Open Group Exam Conduct and Security Policy
- Statistical evidence indicating irregular or non‑credible exam performance
Consequences of Cheating
Before or During an Exam
If a candidate is found to have cheated while taking an exam, or if statistical analysis of exam data indicates cheating:
- The exam result will be invalidated
- The candidate will not achieve certification
After Certification
If cheating is discovered after a certification has already been awarded:
- The certification will be revoked
- The individual will be disqualified from taking any future exams required for any Open Group certification
