Overview
Candidates sometimes notice that their percentage score on the exam report does not exactly match the raw score calculation. This is due to the way the exam provider rounds scores before displaying them.
How the Score Is Calculated
Your raw score is based on the number of questions you answered correctly out of the total number of questions.
In this case:
- Raw score: 22.8 out of 40
- Rounded raw score: 23 out of 40
- Percentage calculation:
( 23 ÷ 40 = 0.575 = 57.5% )
Why the Report Shows 57%
The exam provider rounds down the percentage shown on the score report.
- 57.5% is rounded down to 57%
- This is why your score report displays 57%, even though the exact calculation is slightly higher
Summary
- Raw scores are rounded to the nearest whole number
- Percentage scores are then calculated
- The final displayed score is rounded down, not rounded to the nearest whole number
