Overview
After you complete your certification exam, your results go through several processing steps before your certification can be finalized. This article explains what happens next, how long it takes, and when you will appear in the Directory of Certified Individuals.
1. Exam Results Sent to The Open Group
Once you finish your exam, the exam provider (Pearson VUE) sends your results to The Open Group.
When the results are received, The Open Group performs an audit to verify the integrity and validity of the exam session.
2. Processing Timeline
Standard Processing
If your results pass the audit with no issues:
- The Open Group will contact you via email within 6 business days
- The email will include instructions on how to complete your certification in The Open Group’s certification system
Extended Processing (Flagged for Audit)
If your results are flagged for additional review:
- Processing may take up to 15 business days
- You will be contacted once the audit is complete
3. Completing Your Certification
You must complete the certification steps before you are officially certified.
You will not appear in the Directory of Certified Individuals until:
- You receive the email from The Open Group, and
- You log in to the certification system and complete the required steps
The email you receive will include instructions on how to access the certification portal and finalize your certification.
