Overview
After passing an exam, the steps required to complete your certification depend on whether you earned a Certification Credential or a full certification. This article explains what happens next and how to receive your certificate and Open Badge.
Certification Credentials
For certification credentials—such as the TOGAF Framework: Environmentally Sustainable Information Systems Specialist—the completion process is handled entirely through Credly.
- You complete certification by accepting your Open Badge.
- Once you accept the badge, your digital certificate becomes available in your Credly account.
- For more details on completing a credential, see the related article.
Full Certifications
Full certifications (e.g., Foundation, Practitioner, Business Architecture Foundation) require an additional step before certification is complete.

To complete a full certification:
- Enter into the required trademark license agreement
This is a mandatory step defined in The Open Group Certification for People: Certification Policy for Examination‑Based Programs. - After completing the agreement, your certification is finalized.
- An Open Badge will be issued within 10 working days of completing certification (if you have opted into the Open Badges program).
