Overview
After completing a certification exam at Pearson VUE, most candidates receive their pass/fail result within minutes. However, in some cases the score report in your account may show as pending. This article explains what that status means and what to expect next.
When You Normally Receive Your Results
Typically, your exam result is available immediately:
- A printed score report is generated at the end of your exam (if at a test center)
- An electronic score report is also available in your Pearson VUE account
You can access electronic score reports at any time through your Pearson VUE testing account.
Why Your Score Report May Be Pending
If your result is displayed as pending, this means:
- Pearson VUE has not yet generated your score report
- This can occur when the printed report cannot be produced at the test center or during an online session
- The pending status usually resolves within a few hours
What Happens Next
Once your score report is generated:
- Pearson VUE will forward your exam results to The Open Group
- This transfer typically occurs within five business days
- After receiving the results, The Open Group will process, audit, and update your certification record
Summary
A pending score report is not an error—it simply means Pearson VUE is still finalizing your exam results. No action is required on your part.
