Overview
The TOGAF Combined exams are designed to be taken as one continuous session. This article explains the break policy and provides guidance for candidates who may need more flexibility.
Are Breaks Allowed?
No. The TOGAF Combined exams must be completed in a single uninterrupted session.
There are no scheduled or unscheduled breaks permitted during the exam.
Important Note for OnVUE Online‑Proctored Exams
If you are taking the exam through OnVUE (online proctoring):
- You must remain in your seat for the entire duration of the exam
- If you leave your seat for any reason—including to take a break—your exam session will be terminated by the proctor
OnVUE operates under strict security rules and does not allow any form of break.
If You Need More Flexibility
If you are unable to sit for an extended period of time, it is recommended that you:
- Take the individual Part 1 and Part 2 exams separately, rather than the Combined exam
This allows you to complete each exam independently and take breaks between sessions.
Summary
- TOGAF Combined exams do not include breaks
- Leaving your seat during an OnVUE exam will terminate your session
- Candidates who need more flexibility should consider taking the exams as separate parts
