Overview
Examination vouchers issued by The Open Group must be redeemed and used before their expiry date. Because Pearson VUE test centers and online proctoring slots can fill up quickly, it is important to schedule your exam as early as possible.
If for some reason you were unable to book a slot, and your exam voucher expires shortly and you cannot find an available exam appointment, this article explains what you need to know and what steps you can take.
Voucher Expiration Rules
- Voucher expiration dates cannot be extended under any circumstances.
- Your exam must be both booked and taken before the voucher expiry date.
- If no appointments are available before the expiry date, the voucher cannot be redeemed.
These rules are set by The Open Group and apply to all exam vouchers.
If You Cannot Find an Exam Slot
If you are unable to locate an available appointment before your voucher expires:
- Try adjusting your search:
- Check different times of day
- Look at nearby test centers
- Try both online proctored and test‑center delivery
- If no appointments are available, you may contact The Open Group Help Desk for guidance.
Please note that while support can review your situation, they cannot extend the voucher or override the expiry date.
Before Contacting Support
Make sure that:
-
No exam appointment is currently booked using the voucher
(If one exists, cancel it first. A booked appointment will cause the voucher to be consumed as a no‑show.)
How to Contact Support
Submit a request through The Open Group Help Desk:
- Category: Certification and Accreditation
- Type: General certification queries
- Include your voucher code
- Attach a screenshot showing no available exam appointments
