We understand that exam fees are an important part of planning your certification journey. While we do not offer general or pre‑exam discounts, candidates who do not pass an exam may be eligible for either a retake voucher or a 50% discount voucher, depending on how the original exam was booked.
This article explains eligibility, the steps to follow, and important timing requirements.
1. When a Discounted Voucher Is Available
A 50% discount voucher is only available after an exam failure.
There are no other discount programs or promotional vouchers.
Your eligibility depends on how you originally registered for the exam:
- If you attended an Accredited Training Course (ATC) → You may receive a retake voucher from your ATC (see Section 2).
- If you booked directly with Pearson VUE (self‑study) → You may request a 50% discount voucher from The Open Group (see Section 3).
2. If You Attended an Accredited Training Course (ATC)
If your exam voucher was provided as part of an ATC:
- Contact your Accredited Training Course Provider directly.
- They may be able to issue a retake voucher.
- You will need to provide:
- Your candidate number
- The date of your examination
- A copy of your exam score report
If your ATC cannot provide a retake voucher—for example, if they have used their allocation or are no longer accredited—you may request a 50% discount voucher from The Open Group (see Section 3).
3. If You Took the Self‑Study Route
If you booked your exam directly with Pearson VUE (not through an ATC):
- You may request a 50% discount voucher from The Open Group.
- Email a copy of your exam score report (PDF preferred) to:
exam‑vouchers(at)opengroup.org - Please allow at least 14 days for the discount voucher to be issued.
4. Voucher Request Time Limits
All requests for retake or discount vouchers must be submitted within 2 years of the original exam date.
5. Retake Waiting Period
The earliest you may retake an exam is one month after your previous attempt.
