Overview
Exam vouchers issued by The Open Group have fixed expiration dates. These dates are set at the time of issuance and cannot be extended under any circumstances. This article explains your options if you are unable to use your voucher before it expires.
Can the Voucher Expiration Date Be Extended?
No.
The expiration date on an exam voucher cannot be extended. All vouchers must be redeemed and the exam must be taken before the expiry date.
What You Can Do
If you are unable to schedule your exam before the voucher expires, you may contact The Open Group Help Desk for guidance on available options.
How to Contact Support
Submit a request through the Help Desk:
- Submit a request
- Choose Category: Certification and Accreditation
- Select General certification queries
- Include your voucher code in the request
The support team will review your situation and advise you on possible next steps.
Important Requirement Before Contacting Support
You must ensure:
- No exam appointment is currently booked using the voucher
If an exam is scheduled, you must cancel the appointment first.
A booked exam prevents the Help Desk from reviewing voucher options, and if the appointment is not cancelled, the voucher may be consumed as a no‑show.
