Overview
Most candidates receive their initial exam result—pass or fail—within minutes of completing their exam. However, full certification processing by The Open Group takes additional time. This article explains how and when results are delivered for exams taken at Pearson VUE, what “pending” means, and when to contact support.
Immediate Exam Results
After completing your exam:
- If you attended a test center, you will normally receive a printed score report within a few minutes.
- An electronic score report will also be available in your Pearson VUE testing account.
How Results Are Processed
After your exam:
- Pearson VUE forwards your results to The Open Group (typically within 2 business days).
- Upon receipt, The Open Group performs an audit of the results.
- If no issues are identified, The Open Group will email you within 6 business days with instructions to complete your certification.
- You will not appear in the Directory of Certified Individuals until:
- You receive the email from The Open Group, and
- You log in to the certification system and complete the required steps.
If your result is flagged for further analysis, processing may take longer.
When to Contact Support
If you have not received any communication after 6 working days, please contact the support team.
Possible reasons for delays include:
- Your result was flagged for additional audit
- Your email address was entered incorrectly during exam registration
- Your email provider blocked the notification
